The Country’s renowned political Commentator and business mogul Joshua Chisa Mbele has challenged the newly appointed Minister of Local Government and a Lecturer at the University of Malawi (UNIMA) Blessings Chinsinga to turn down the offer.
This comes barely a few hours after President Lazarus Chakwera announced the appointment of the two ministers filling some of the vacant positions which existed for some time in his Cabinet.
Meanwhile, writing on his Facebook Page, Chisa Mbele wrote:
“If you ask me.
On the Appointment of the new Cabinet Ministers.
I would advise Chinsinga to decline the offer. The Ministry is too Junior & Irrelevant.
If the President was serious about people‘s competency and potential to contribute, Chinsinga would have gone to Foreign Affairs.
Mkaka to Local Government.
As SG of the Party, Local Government is his playfield.
Transport & Public Works is for an Engineer & Industrialist.”
The ministers appointed are Jacob Hara, Minister of Transport and Public Works, while political scientist Professor Blessings Chinsinga is now Minister of Local Government.
Ministry of Local Government and Ministry of Transport and Public Works has operated with deputy Ministers following the demise of Lingson Belekanyama and Muhammad Sidik Mia respectively.
