The Opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has demanded for the immediate release of well-known right activist Bon Kalindo.
Kalindo, former United Transformation Movement (UTM) National Youth Director has been arrested today over claims that former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Clement Chiwaya was murdered.
In a statement released few minutes ago, DPP has described the arrests of Kalindo as politically motivated.
As a party, we find the arrest of Kalindo as an attempt by the Tonse Alliance government to silence critics; hence, we strongly condemn such arrest,” reads in part the statement signed by DPP Spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba.
Namalomba has since warned Tonse alliance saying the arrest will fuel more anger among Malawians.
