Former United Transformation Movement (UTM) Director of Youth Bon Kalindo has been granted bail.
Zomba Chief Magistrate Court has asked Kalindo to pay bail condition of K200, 000 surrender his passport and show up at the police Station every two weeks.
The case is to resume next year on January 20.
Security was tight outside the court building.
Kalindo is being accused of publishing a false statement contrary to Section 60 (1) of the Penal Code.
Kalindo is alleged to have made a statement that former deputy Speaker, Clement Chiwaya, did not commit suicide but was killed at Parliament Building in Lilongwe.
