Writer and activist Pemphero Mphande has stepped down as manager for songbird Keturah whom he has managed for 9 months.

Mphande confirmed of the development through a statement seen by this publication saying the development is effective December 12, 2021.

“I would like to inform you all that effective yesterday, December 13th, I have stepped down as Miss Keturah’s manager,” wrote Mphande also known as Mr. Zee World.

According to Mphande, when he first met Keturah in March this year, he made a pledge to freely volunteer his time and resources to work with Keturah because he saw unimaginable talent that was not managed.

Mphande cited that he wants to focus on personal work at his organization as major reason to step down as Keturah’s manager.

“I asked to step down as her manager so that I can focus on my work at my organization, my company and also other work I do for different brands I work for. We have both found it to be a better decision,” said Pemphero.

Mphande added; “Over the last few months, we have achieved so many things, most of which are firsts for Keturah’s music and brand. We have built a strong music brand that beyond selling the music and creating it’s visibility, has attracted corporate appeal and brand ambassadorship deals. I believe, I leave her in a better position today than she was 9 months ago when I first met her.”

Whilst acknowledging Keturah’s role in introducing him to the world of entertainment, Mphande said that he has learnt a lot about music management and hopefully he will be able top sign other artist in the near future if time allows.

“In my experience, when I look at the current crop of musicians, Keturah is the only one I see going international. Yet, talent without the right attitude and professional etiquette is nothing. With the right attitude, Keturah will go far, off to the world where she dreams,” said Mphande.

From now onwards, those wishing to book Keturah for any event should contact her directly via her social media platforms, said Mphande who revealed that he remains Keturah’s number one fan.

Mphande also thanked his fans for making the job of managing Keturah easy and enjoyable.

Currently, he is managing Mr. Giddes Chalamanda.

When he started managing Keturah, people questioned the relationship of the two if it was beyond manager-artist relationship due to the way they presented themselves.

Keturah is yet to comment.
