The Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services management said 66 foreign nationals have been deported in 2021, down from 73 in 2020.

Spokesperson for the department, Wellington Chiponde, has attributed the development to enhancement of joint border patrols with other security agencies aimed at curbing further importation of Covid-19, among others.

Chiponde said they will continue working with the security agencies to ensure that no foreign nationals are staying in the country illegally
