Days after announcing that they will hold demonstrations against unpaid monthly stipend, Government interns have have cancelled there demonstrations and they have endorsed Bon Kalindo led demonstrations on the high cost of living slated tomorrow in Zomba.

President of the interns Arthur Chadokota confirmed the development saying the interns have gone eight months without getting their K80,000 monthly stipend.

Chadokota added that the government has not offered proper explanation hence a need to demonstrate.

Kalindo has collaborated the story that indeed the frustrated interns will join them.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Labour Vera Kantukule has said, the delay to pay the interns was as a result of system failure and bureaucracy.

She however indicated that most issues are resolved and that the interns who have filled the required documents will start receiving their stipend together with civil servants starting this month.
