Just few days after being suspended over arrogance by councilors, District Commissioner for Mulanje Stallichi Mwambiwa, Director of Planning and Development Ernest Kaphuka and Director of Public Works John Monjeza have resumed work.

The two parties had a meeting on Tuesday which lasted for almost five hours, from 2 O’clock in the afternoon up to 7 O’clock in the evening.

According to Chairperson of Mulanje District Council, Councilor Richard Chikhwakhwa,  among other issues, the councilors were not amused with the secretariat’s decision to reduce the number of toilets to be constructed in markets from eight to five without consulting the councilors and dubious awarding of construction projects to contractors.

Mwambiwa said the grievances the councilors had have been resolved and he said together with his directors they have resumed work today Wednesday.
