Unknown people have murdered a man aged 79 in Phalombe.
Phalombe police Officer-in-Charge, MacDonald Chambakata, has identified the deceased as Lazaro Lihaka of Thipela Village, Traditional Authority Nyezelera in Phalombe district.
According to Chambakata, the victim, a well known farmer, had just received compensation money from ESCOM for the trees which the power utility body cut in his field.
He added that on December 14 2021, Lihaka was found dead on his veranda with serious head injuries.
Postmortem results indicate death was due to loss of blood.
Meanwhile, police in the district have netted Chrissy Paul, 28, for allegedly killing her 10-year-old daughter because of family issues.
