A 57 years old woman Rhoda Kossam, has died after the oxcart she boarded was hit by motor vehicle registration number BQ 5652 Toyota light Lorry which was being driven by one Michael Chakama.
The accident occurred during the night of December 16, 2021 at Sabvu village along Mponela -Ntchisi tarmac road.
It is reported that both the vehicle and the oxcart were heading the same direction.
Upon reaching at the said village Chakama, after exchanging direction with an oncoming motor vehicle, suddenly hit the rear side of the oxcart.
Both the vehicle and oxcart swerved to extreme nearside where all passengers including Kossam from the oxcart were thrown out.
Following the impact, Kossam sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Ntchisi District Hospital where she was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.
Driver of the oxcart and his two other passengers sustained multiple bruises while driver of the vehicle had chest pains.
Kossam, hailed from Sabvu village Traditional Authority Kalumo in Ntchisi district.
