Business tycoon Batatawala taken to ACB offices for questioning

Businessman Abdul Karim Batatawala has been taken to Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) offices in Blantyre for questioning.
Batatawala was arrested last week in relation to suspected corrupt practices in procurement contracts of uniforms and other accessories at the Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services between 2009 and 2012.
Later in the day, Batatawala will be taken to court for bail hearing.
Batatawala failed to appear in court on Friday last week due to his illness and was admitted at Shifa Private Hospital in the city.
