A 35-year-old Harare woman, Leoba Muzondo fatally struck her husband Farai Tsatse (39) with a metal hoe during an altercation over infidelity issues.
According to the police, Tsatse confronted his wife around 10 PM on Saturday night, accusing her of cheating.
Tsatse reportedly picked up a half brick and threw it at Muzondo but missed her. Muzondo then struck her husband with a metal hoe once on the back of the head in retaliation.
Tsatse collapsed and was rushed to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals where he was declared dead upon admission. ZRP posted on their Twitter page:
Police in Harare are investigating a murder case that occurred on 18/12/21 at 2200 hours. The victim, Farai Tsatse (39) had an altercation with his wife, Leoba Muzondo (35) over infidelity issues.
In the process, the victim tried to assault the suspect with a half brick and missed her.
The suspect retaliated and struck the victim with a metal hoe once on the back and once on the head.
The victim collapsed and was pronounced dead on admission at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.
In a related case, police are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of Emmely Ndaradze of 5908 New Cannan, Highfield, Harare.
Ndaradze allegedly left a four-year-old minor asleep in a room with a burning candle.
Police said at 1.30 AM, neighbours were awakened by the smell of smoke and found the victim suffocating as the room was on fire.
The minor sadly later passed on at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital in Harare.
