Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Regional Governor for the Southern Region, Charles Mchacha, has asked for resignation of President Lazarus Chakwera for failing to deliver campaign promises.
Mchacha made the remarks on Sunday during a Democratic Progressive Party and United Democratic Front (UDF) mega rally at Njamba Freedom Park in Blantyre.
He said the country’s leadership should either resign or call for a referendum to determine if Malawians still want them in power or not.
On his behalf, President of DPP, Peter Mutharika said Malawi is on autopilot and will not get anywhere.
He added that running a country is a serious business, saying nothing is working in the country.
Mutharika has since bemoaned nepotism saying the government is just arresting the Lhomwes.
