Former President Peter Mutharika has said the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and United Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) will one day become one party.
Mutharika said this during DPP/UDF mega rally held at Njamba Freedom Park in the commercial capital Blantyre.
Addressing the crowd Mutharika said DPP – UDF relationship is much much stronger than ever.
He then repeated his stand that he was robbed off government in 2020, but says DPP and UDF will bounce back stronger in the next elections.
On his part, UDF president Atupele Muluzi appealed to Malawians, especially the opposition to unite towards 2025 considering the 50 percent plus one system.
He said no party can win the election with such a provision.
Muluzi then asked President Lazarus Chakwera to fulfill campaign promises to Malawians.
“Mr President i know you are a good man but you have not kept your promises. You have broken your promise. Our people are not asking for too much. They just want you to fulfill the promises you made,” he said.
