Leader of opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa who is also Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the South on Sunday surprised many Malawians when he shunned a joint rally organized by the party and the United Democratic Front (UDF) at Njamba Freedom Park.
The rally which was organized solely to criticize the Tonse Alliance administration led by Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his Vice Dr. Saulos Chilima was graced by the party’s President Peter Mutharika and UDF President Atupele Muluzi.
Initially, it was communicated that all aspirant Presidents will attend the rally but to the surprise of many Nankhumwa was not available.
This ignited debate among Malawians with many claiming that all is not well in the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
Some Malawians even suggested for an early convention in the party.
