All is set for the Zomba City Council to elect a new mayor Today, December 22nd.

Two people have confirmed their candidature for the top position.

Councilor Munira Bakali Chitseko of Likangala ward and former mayor Christopher Jana say they are ready to battle it out.

The incumbent, councilor Benson Bula says he is indecisive on whether to contest or not.

The position of mayor is contested every two and half years within a five-year tenure of councilors.
