Luwani prison in Neno district says that it is very rarely for the relatives of their inmates and well wishers to visit the prison.
Gift Chitonga general duty officer at Luwani prison revealed this on Tuesday when a religious group national repentance Malawi cheered the inmates at the prison.
Luwani prison which is keeping close to 64 inmates is located in Neno district. In an interview Gift Chitonga the general duty officer at Luwani prison said that their inmates feel like their are neglected as most of their relatives and some well wishers rarely visit them.
Chitonga attributed this to unpassable road network adding that the prison is far away from the township. Chitonga therefore sounds C.S.O by calling upon faith leaders and other well wishers to visit Luwani prison so as to encourage them with the word of God and providing them with basic human needs like soap and sugar.
On his part national repentance Malawi national coordinator Dr Edward Mikwamba said that the group is committed in praying for the nation and people that are in bondage.
According to Dr Mikwamba inmates are condemned and judged by most people regarding them as sinners.
Therefore Dr Mikwamba has called upon the people to join hands in praying for the inmates to show love among them.
