Police in Limbe have arrested Nkata Kangaude who is suspected of defiling a 13 year old girl and allegedly infecting her with HIV in M’mina village, Traditional Authority Chimaliro in Thyolo in June this year.
Limbe police Officer In-charge Francis Chisoti confirmed the development saying, Kangaude defiled the girl after coersed her with K1, 000.
The arrest comes barely hours after the victim’s mother and child rights activists spoke to Zodiak, calling for justice on the matter.
According to victim’s mother, she was asked to close the case by Nasadi police due to insufficient evidence and that the suspect would give her K2 million.
