Political commentators, Wonderful Mkhutche says it is unfortunate that Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has reduced itself to dealing with trivial issues in its rebuilding process.
Mkhutche made the remarks in relation in relation to Democratic Progressive Party’s (DPP) in-fighting over the alleged usage of a picture of the party’s founder, late Bingu wa Mutharika by party presidential hopeful, Kondwani Nankhumwa on a poster and other members.
According to Mkhutche, recent developments have shown that Peter Mutharika considers the party a family property.
“The image of Bingu wa Mutharika is for every party member, and not the Mutharika family. Clearly, Peter Mutharika does not favour Kondwani Nankhumwa. It can be seen from the reaction,” he said.
He addressed it as a small matter saying it is time to settle disputes with Nankhumwa.
He further said DPP can not compete with Tonse Alliance as it stands and if these arguments continue, the party will be heading to the next elections while damaged.
