Malawi Congress Party (MCP) one of the key partners in the governing Tonse Alliance administration has said it will soon respond to  end of year assessment by the former ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)>

Among others, DPP has faulted the leadership of President Lazarus Chakwera saying he has not yet started governing the country.

Citing socio-economic crisis rocking the country as one of the examples that there is leadership crisis.

In his remarks MCP spokesperson Maurice Munthali said their party will properly respond on the issues raised by DPP later.

However, political commentator Humphrey Mvula thinks DPP’s assessment has no basis; adding they are only “grieving” their being booted out of government.

But Mvula calls on Chakwera, his cabinet and Members of Parliament to reduce their salaries to help ease some economic hardships Malawians are currently facing.
