Leader of opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa who is also Vice President for Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for the South is today attending the funeral service of former first lady Anne Muluzi in the capital Lilongwe.

Annie Muluzi died last week in Kenya after a long battle against Cancer.

Her body jetted in on Tuesday through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) and was welcomed by the country’s first lady Monica Chakwera, former President Bakili Muluzi, Former President Dr. Joyce Banda and some family members.

Also in attendance from the DPP is Dr. George Chaponda, MP, who is representing former President His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, among others.

Annie Muluzi will be buried on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at her home near Malingunde in rural Lilongwe.

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera who will attend the funeral has directed that the funeral be accorded a military honour.
