Chiradzulu Police Station appealing to the public that if anyone is missing a male African man, to report to the Station for identification at the mortuary.
This comes after an unidentified man was found floating dead in Litchenza River on 4th January, 2022 around 19:30.
The incident happened in Misomali Village, Traditional Authority Nkalo in Chiradzulu District.
Group Village Headman Misomali reported it to police who rushed to the scene and took the body to Chimwawa Health Centre where death was confirmed.
Postmortem examination conducted at the health facility showed the death was due to suffocation after being swept by running waters in the river.
No foul play has been suspected.
The body is being kept at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital mortuary waiting for identification and burial.
