Chakwera’s daughter to sell Malawi to potential investors

Government has confirmed the appointment of the daughter to President Lazarus Chakwera, Violet Chakwera to Malawi’s diplomatic mission in London, United Kingdom.

Speaking with Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Rejoice Shumba said Violet, just like any other qualified Malawian has been deployed as an investment attaché in London.

She added that her responsibility will be to sell Malawi to potential investors.

After the news broke out that Violet is heading to London, Malawians voiced out against the decision saying Chakwera should fulfil his campaign promise of going against nepotism.

Meanwhile, a social commentator, Tiyane Nyirenda has said there is nothing wrong with the arrangement as long as she is well-qualified for the job.
