Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s estranged wife, Marry Mubaiwa, collapsed when she arrived at the Harare Magistrates Court on Monday.
Marry is facing trial for allegedly using forged documents in a bid to upgrade her customary marriage with Chiwenga when the latter was bedridden in South Africa in 2019.
Chiwenga last year gave his testimony against Marry in a closed court.
The state is left with two more witnesses before it closes its case.
Meanwhile, on Monday, prosecutors Tendai Shonhayi, Tafara Chirambira and Michael Reza intended to tender a statement by a deceased witness Michael Louzidis.
However, Marry’s lawyer, Beatrice Mtetwa challenged the move. Harare magistrate Lazini Ncube was expected to deliver his ruling on Monday afternoon.
