Malawi Leader Lazarus Chakwera has congratulated the country’s National Team, The Flames for making it to the round of 16 at the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations ()AFCON).
“You have made history by qualifying into the round of 16 in the AFCON tournament for the first time ever,” said Chakwera in statement seen by this publication.
According to Chakwera The Flames has shown that everything is possible if there is unity.
“You have shown us that if we work together, fight together, support one another, there is no mountain we cannot climb as a nation,” he said.
“We are super proud of and we are behind you,” he added.
The Flames have made it to the knockout stage following the results from Group D which saw Nigeria and Egypt qualifying as the pool’s leaders and runners-up, respectively.
They will face Morocco next week Tuesday.
