Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development Kezzie Msukwa has stressed that he will not excuse himself from the ministerial position as demanded by Civil Society Organization (CSO) under the banner Youth and Society (YAS).
Yesterday, YAS released a press statement demanding Msukwa’s resignation as he is wanted by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) over his alleged involvement into the Zuneith Sattar corruption scandal.
Responding to resignation calls Msukwa said he will not resign as he is not answering any charges that is requiring him to resign.
“Which investigations are people referring to? They do not understand the order that I am not answering any charges now because it is going for review, so what are they talking about?” asked Msukwa.
According to Msukwa, all the resignation calls are a sign that people do not understand his issue adding that currently he does not have a case and Malawi being a law abiding nation, the people should wait for an order of the court.
Different stake holders have also being mounting pleasure on President Lazarus Chakwera to fire Msukwa from his cabinet over his involvement into the alleged Sattar corruption scandal.
Meanwhile, YAS has given Msukwa 7 days to resign from his ministerial position.
