Leader of Opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa who is Vice President for Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has recovered from COVID-19.

Nankhumwa has confirmed of the development in a statement posted on his official facebook page seen by this publication.

“At the onset, let me thank the Almighty God for the gift of life. If it were not for God’s hand of healing, I would not have been alive today. He healed me from the deadly Covid-19.

“I was hospitalized in Lilongwe and survived on artificial oxygen for a good five days from 24th December, 2021. I was discharged from the hospital five days later and the doctors advised me to be on home-based medication for another 10 days. Later, when I went for a medical check-up, I was certified Covid-19 free. Covid-19 is real and let us all join hands in fighting it,” wrote Nankhumwa.

He added: “After recovery, my first public function was on 12th January, 2022 at my private residence in Luchenza where I donated a cow to a girl with albinism as a gesture of thanking God for the miraculous healing.”

Nankhumwa is vying for the post of Presidency in DPP.
