Notorious drug lord Joaquín Guzmán – better known as El Chapo – was a ‘s*x addict’ who ordered drugs and sex workers to his cell while banged up, according to a new book.

The former head of the Sinaloa Cartel reportedly competed with fellow cartel member and drug trafficker Hector Luis Palma Salazar to see who could rack up the most s*xual partners and who could last longest while partaking in s*x acts.

Journalist Anabel Hernandez writes in her book Emma and the Other Narco Women: “During his years at Puente Grande prison, El Chapo was a drug and s*x addict.

“They brought in prostitutes from outside, and when that was not possible they paid nurses, cleaners and cooks who worked in the penal system.”

Hernandez claims El Chapo had a string of sexual partners, including a 23-year-old who was in prison for robbery, the book alleges that the drug lord got the woman pregnant twice and then ordered her to have abortions.

She also claims one woman who rejected El Chapo’s advanced was beaten and raped.

Hernandez writes that Guzmán was able to order food in from nearby restaurants and had Viagra sent to his cell.

It’s claimed he was able to enjoy these perks as he was regularly pulling in money from other drug dealers and was bribing prison guards with cash.

El Chapo is serving a life sentence for his crimes that spanned a quarter of a century.

He was indicted on charges relating to trafficking hundreds of tonnes of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamines and marijuana to the United States, along with money laundering and weapons-related offences.

While he is known for his high-profile drug empire, he also got a name for himself for his prison breaks.

In 2001, he broke out by hiding in a laundry cart, and spent the next 13 years in and around Sinaloa in hiding.

After being recaptured in 2014, he escaped once again in July 2015 through a mile-long tunnel that took him out of maximum-security Altiplano prison.

He is currently held at a maximum-security facility in Colorado.

Late last year, his wife Emma Coronel Aispuro was sentenced to three-years in jail after pleading guilty to three counts of conspiring to distribute illegal drugs, conspiring to launder money and of engaging in financial dealings with the Sinaloa drug cartel.
