The Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) says it unreservedly offers support to the director general of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Martha Chizuma.
In a statement, HRDC denounces all attempts being deployed by some quarters to allegedly intimidate and silence Chizuma.
“In fact it has to be recalled that it was HRDC that supported the candidacy of Ms. Chizuma when she was initially rejected by the Parliamentary Appointment Committee (PAC), ” it reads.
.
The statement further calls on Malawians to guard against any threat that will “impede, paralyse or suffocate her work”.
HRDC has also asked the Tonse Alliance Administration to ensure that ACB has the required support and resources to carry out its work.
