Politicians in the country have rallied their support behind the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Martha Chizuma following a leakage of a phone call conversation she was involved in with unknown person.
Over the weekend, the ACB boss was caught up in an audio leakage scandal in which she was talking about the ongoing Zuneith Sattar corruption scandal.
Among others in the audio, the ACB boss said she has all the evidence and knows everyone who is involved in the scandal.
The clip has attracted mixed reactions, while others believe Chizuma is a victim of circumstances, others are calling for her resignation for breaking what they think is the oath of office.
However, a number of politicians are calling for the public to stay behind the ACB Boss.
In his remarks Atupele Muluzi president for the United Democratic Front (UDF) called religious leaders, political leaders and Civil Society Organization and all Malawians to stand by Chizuma “If we are serious about fighting and ending corruption in Malawi”
Member of Parliament Mary Navicha declaring her support to Chizuma has said a corruption free and prosperous Malawi is possible while urging the populace to stand firm and fight for the future of youngsters by standing with Chizuma.
“I stand with Martha Chizuma,” said Kondwani Nankhumwa, leader of opposition and former ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) vice president for the South.
