Malawi leader Lazarus Chakwera has announced that new cabinet will be named in two days’ time following his move to dissolve his initial cabinet.

While addressing the Nation last night, Chakwera said that all ministerial functions should be referred to his office until he appoints another cabinet.

The president also hinted that he will not include former Minister of Lands Kezzie Msukwa in the new cabinet.

This is to pave way for investigations as Msukwa is being pursued by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on corruption charges.

Prior to Msukwa’s firing, different stakeholders had been asking Chakwera to consider firing him as he did with other two Cabinet ministers who were arrested on the same.

Others were demanding for Msukwa’s resignation but he remained adamant saying at the moment he is not answering any charges.
