Former Vice President of Zambia Dr. Nevers Mumba has saluted President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera for applying wisdom in audio scandals involving Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma.
The leaked audio stirred debate in the country on Sunday as some quarters of society said it was a huge scandal and they called for the immediate resignation of the ACB boss.
In the audio, Chizuma put in the spotlight churches, judges, lawyers and the Presidency as not helping matters in the Sattar case, which so far, she said has proved politically divisive.
On Monday Chakwera summoned Chizuma to Kumuzu Palace where he reprimanded her over the said audios.
Instead of firing Chizuma, Chakwera gave her a second chance.
Writing on his official facebook page Dr. Mumba hailed Chakwera for applying wisdom on the matter.
“We commend the President of Malawi for the unusual wisdom he has used in handling the matter of the Director General of the Anti corruption Bureau. The last time I heard of such wisdom is when Solomon in the Bible was asked to resolve a feud between two women who were both claiming that the living child was theirs. This singular act distinguished Solomon from all other Kings.
“President Chakwera has decided to keep the Director General even after her disparaging comments against him. This is history in the making,” wrote Mumba.
He added: “Africa is watching the developments in this small Central African Nation….”
