Government has started auctioning property which was seized from Oswald Lutepo and other cash gate convicts totaling to over 1.4 Billion Kwacha.

The development comes barely weeks after Lutepo was released from prison after serving jail sentence.

According to Steve Kayuni, director of public prosecution, Lutepo’s property which is being auctioned is totaling to 600 Million Kwacha which includes a house, his factory in Blantyre and the state is also keeping his 50 Million Kwacha bail bond.

Kayuni also disclosed that the government is also auctioning a house belonging to another chaste convict the late Teresa Senzani, former PS for ministry of tourism which is worth 340 Million Kwacha.

In addition, the director of public prosecution has disclosed that government is also auctioning property belonging to cash gate convict Leonard Kalonga which worth 500 Million Kwacha.

He also disclosed that there is also a machinne which was confiscated from a company belonging a Chinese national which was used produce thin plastics that is being auctioned but it’s not part of the cash gate cases.
