Last night, President Lazarus Chakwera finalized reconstituting his cabinet days after dissolving his first cabinet in which he has made slight changes.
The most notable change is of the vice president Saulos Chilima who has been scrapped off his ministerial position of Minister of Economic Planning.
According to a statement signed by Zangazanga Chikhosi, Assistant to the President and Cabinet, Chilima remains responsible for Public Sector Reforms.
Prior to Cabinet dissolution, some stakeholders were calling for Chilima release as Minister of Economic Planning on the basis that he has failed as economically the country was failing to improve.
In the new cabinet President Chakwera has joined Chilima’s ministry’s and Finance Ministry which is now being headed by Sosten Gwengwe former Minister of Trade.
