Senior Resident Magistrate Florence Msekandiana has released on bail comedian-cum-politician Bon Kalindo.

On bail on conditions, Msekandiana said that Kalindo should pay a cash bond of K100,000, provides two sureties with a non cash bond of K500,000 each and surrenders travel documents if he has any.

Msekandiana advised Kalindo to report to police every fortnight on Wednesdays.

The court in its ruling has also dismissed an application by the state to have the accused remanded for seven days as it carries out investigations.

It has been observed by Msekandiana that Kalindo has no flight risk and cannot interfere with witnesses.

Police arrested Kalindo on Tuesday, last week, for alleged illegal electricity connection in Area 25 Lilongwe.
