One of the Tonse Alliance partners, United Transformation Movement (UTM) has said the party is not comfortable with the way things are being managed in government citing the recent appointment of cabinet members by President Lazarus Chakwera.
The development comes barely hours after reports emerged that UTM lawmakers have penned Speaker of Parliament asking him to relocate them to opposition benches in Parliament.
Speaking in an interview with the press UTM Publicist, Frank Mwenifumbo said that most party members are not happy with the reduction of its members appointed into the cabinet.
“To says that UTM members are comfortable, then I will be lying. Most of the members are very uncomfortable”.
Meanwhile, the party refuted reports circulating on social media that the party’s parliamentary leadership has written the speaker of parliament to be allowed to move to the opposition benches.
