Flood affected families in Chambe, Mulanje District are today expected to receive relief items from the Bushiris (Prophet Shepherd and Mary) during this inaugural phase.
The second phase will involve rehabilitating their houses which were damaged by the floods or Cyclone Ana.
This follows surveys that people in the area were among those rendered destitute as a result of the Tropical Cyclone Ana last week.
The relief items being provided to the affected families are food items, a bucket and plastic paper, which the Bushiris have put together to help those affected.
At Chambe close to 2000 families have gathered waiting for receipt of the items today.
Affected families in other areas such as Thyolo and Phalombe, including those in the Lowershire districts, are also expected to benefit.
