The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has said it will not appeal the bail pending appeal granted to convicted business mogul Thomson Mpinganjira.

Victor Chiwala, lawyer for ACB has told the press that the bureau has accepted the appeal.

’‘There is nothing new. I mean people make an appeal, its up to the court to decide on the appeal. The court has made a determination, we have accepted it, and there is nothing we can do about it. We can’t say we agree or not agree with the ruling and there are some points which the court agreed with us and there some points which the court agreed with the other party but we accept it as it is” he said.

Chiwala has since disclosed that the state will just wait for hearing of the main appeal.

Mpinganjira is serving a 9 year jail sentence in a case where he attempted to bribe Constitutional Court Judges handling the Presidential polls case.
