The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has welcomed in the party Councillor Gabriel Mwabungulu of Chibavi West Ward in Mzuzu City.
MCP Regional Chairman for the North, Joseph Chavula, said the party has an open-door policy to allow anyone to join the party.
“This means one thing. People join the party after being convinced of its leadership. I hope we will receive more because of our open-door policy,” said Chavula.
Also weighing in on the development is MCP District Chairperson for Mzuzu City, Franklin Hara who said people join the party out of their free will.
“These people join us without being forced. Such people are loyal to the party,” clarified Hara.
In his remarks, Councillor Mwabungulu, who was an independent Councillor for Chibavi West ward, said he has joined the party following its democratic values.
