Winiko’s case set for February 17

The Chief resident magistrate court in Zomba will on 17th of this month start hearing a case involving former United Transformation Movement (UTM) National Youth Director Bon Kalindo.

Chief resident magistrate, Austin Banda adjourned the matter on 20th of January due to unavailability of Kalindo’s lawyer Gilbert Khonyongwa.

In an interview Khonyongwa confirmed that on the stated date the state will start parading witnesses.

Bon Kalindo is answering a charge on allegations of the offence of publishing a false statement contrary to Section 60 (1) of the Penal Code.

He has been arrested thrice in two months, escaping one warrant of arrest.
