Blantyre City Council (BCC) has ordered street vendors and car washers to leave the streets and ply their trade in designated places.
BCC spread the news through a public address van that moved around the city with message that street vending is illegal, asking the traders to voluntarily relocate.
Removal of street vendors has been an on and off activity as the vendors only leave the streets briefly and come back few days later.
