The former ruling and main opposition political party, Democratic Progressive (DPP) has trashed a 33 member shadow cabinet announced in Parliament by Leader of Opposition, Kondwani Nankhumwa saying the cabinet has no DPP blessing.

According to the statement published on DPP’s Facebook Page a while ago signed by DPP administrative secretary, Francis Mphepo, the party does not recognize the cabinet hence party,s communications to the house will be done by the party’s appointed spokespersons on specific matters.

“The DPP believes that the new shadow cabinet does serve no purpose in the hybrid government system of presidential and parliamentary system practiced in Malawi,” reads the Statement.

Democratic Progressive Party-DPP echos the recent stand by United Democratic Front (UDF) president Atupele Muluzi that he does not recognize the cabinet by Kondwani Nankhumwa.
