The body of Alinafe Bonongwe, Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) Station Manager for Dedza has been laid to rest yesterday at his home village Kapanga 1, Traditional Authority (T/A) Kalimanjira in Nkhotakota.
The late Bonongwe was brutally murdered by unknown people at his home in Dedza.
It is reported that the late Bonongwe was zealous in fighting corruption such he was a nemesis to the evil corrupt cartels.
Malawians are therefore calling for justice to be served for the late Bonongwe by making sure that every person involved in his murder be brought to justice.
President Lazarus Chakwera has assured the general public that he will make sure that his government will not relent until the perpetrators are brought to justice.
According to Chakwera, Bonongwe’s death is a heartbreaking and colossal loss to Malawi.
“Mr Bonongwe has died a hero, and his sacrifice for Malawi will not be in vain, for it gives all of us fresh inspiration to press on with our quest for a new Malawi free of corruption,” Chakwera says.
