Mr Hamoonga said Ms Liyungu was reported missing on Friday last week.
He said today around 05:00 hours, Ms Liyungu was discovered buried behind her house where she was staying with her sister.
Mr Hamoonga said Warren Liyungu aged 51 of house number A394 who had earlier reported the matter to police discovered the body after noticing blood stains from the main house to the back of the yard.
“Brief facts of the matter are that the deceased was reported to have gone missing on 11th February, 2022 and today 13th February, 2022 at 00: 05hrs was discovered buried behind the house in Hellen Kaunda where she was staying with her sister, after Warren Moyo Liyungu aged 51 of house number A394 who had earlier reported the matter to police noticed blood stains from the main house to the back of the yard and that’s how the body was discovered,” he said.
Mr Hamoonga said the scene of crime was visited and preserved while the remains of the deceased have been deposited at University Teaching Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem and burial.
