President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is today expected to leave the country for Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium where he will attend the 6th European Union – African Union Summit.

This has been confirmed in a statement from the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) made available to faceofmalawi.

According to the statement, the President is expected to leave the country at 4pm through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA).

Enroute to Malawi, the President will stop over in Geneva, Switzerland where he will hold discussions with officials from Phillip Morris and the Global Fund among others.

The AU-EU meeting will be held under the theme “Africa and Europe: two Continents with a joint vision for 2030”.
