Information reaching FaceofMalawi has indicated that there was a break-in at Lilongwe Police Station Cage where impounded vehicles have been tampered with.
It is reported that the incident occurred during the night of 12 to 13 February 2022 at the station as reported by T/ Insp James Mzumala Central West Region police headquarters.
The facts are that the reporter received a phone call from T/sub Insp Kayaka at around 0900hrs that several motor vehicles which were impounded by traffic offenses were tampered with.
It was found that motor vehicles have been damaged and 4 batteries were stolen from the scene.
However, this comes barely a day after unknown criminals escaped with a police rifle K2C at Zomba Police Station’ exposing the security loopholes in the country.
Meanwhile, the police in Lilongwe are yet to confirm the development.
