As Earlier reported on FaceofMalawi.com, the Police in Zomba district have confirmed the missing of a rifle K2C Riffle serial # KOO8944, loaded with 10 rounds of live ammunition and two mobile phones at Zomba Police Station.

Eastern Region Police Spokesperson Joseph Sauka says the incident happened on Monday when unknown criminals stole the properties.

At that time, the counter was under the charge of Sergeants Alinafe Moyo and Susan Palije as well as Sub-Inspector Ines Thole.

Sauka says the men in uniform have instituted the investigations to establish how the criminals managed to break the borders of a secured place like police premises, where security is supposed to be very tight.

He however has appealed for calmness amongst the people in Zomba as police are working tirelessly to recover the stolen gun and arrest the criminals.

Meanwhile, FaceofMalawi can confirm that two law enforcers, who were on duty during the time of the incident, have been detained
