Minister of Transport and Public Works Jacob Hara has indicated that the dream of having an international airport in Mzuzu will be actualized.
According to Hara, whatever President Chakwera said in his State of the Nation Address (Sona) is an order that has to be implemented by responsible authorities.
In the Sona, which he delivered in Parliament on February 3, Chakwera announced several developments which his administration wants to implement including the airport.
Hara says his ministry is looking for a good site where the airport should be constructed apparently because there is no location for the project.
However, ahead of the 2019 later-nullified presidential election, then-president Peter Mutharika toured a site in Lusangazi on the outskirts of Mzuzu City, where the airport was expected to be constructed.
Hara is addressing the press in Lilongwe alongside Minister of Information Gospel Kazako.
