A child has died following heavy floods that hit Salima on Monday.
Salima District Council spokesperson, Grace Kapatuka confirmed the development saying the child died after a wall of a house collapsed on him at Siyasiya village in the area of Traditional Authority Khombedza.
Meanwhile, several other people have also been admitted to Salima district hospital for treatment for different degrees of injuries while thousands have been rendered homeless due to the impact of the floods.
