The Chief Executive Officer for Zambia’s Telenovela Series Zuba has dismissed allegations that Make Up Artist for the series Felistus Banda took her own life after being subjected to sexual harassment by the production team.
Fred Muthandeni Phiri, who is also ZUba’s Executive Producer, said at no point did the late Felistus report any rape case to the authorities adding that the production team has never recorded any any sexual assault or harassment before.
According to Phiri, it is sad that the death of Felistus has subjected the series’ production team to grave accusations which are being spearheaded by people without getting truie facts.
He added that the late Felistus only worked with Zuba production team for few months as she was a standby Make-Up Artist between 1st March 2021 to 30th November, 2021 as she was subcontracted by a third party.
Phiri has also revealed that they have instituted an in house investigations to ensure that nothing of that behaviour had occurred.
He has therefore appealed to the people of Zambia who might have information or evidence of any kind regarding the matter to come forward and help them with investigations.
Few days after Felistus’ death it was revealed that se committed suicide after she was raped by Zuba’s production team a development which attracted public outcry and demanded justice for her.
