Chief Resident Magistrate Jean Kayira has adjourned to March 8, 2022 a rape case involving former Chief Executive Officer for MASM Andrew Ngomwa.

The case was scheduled for oral submission ahead of the sentencing today but the case failed to commence because Ngomwa and his witness were not ready.

Pilirani Masanjala, lawyer for the state confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

Masanjala described the development as unfortunate saying state lawyers used tax payers money to travel and have paid for other expenses.

Ngomwa was convicted on three counts of rape, defilement and indecent practices in the presence of a child.
